My name is Sophie I am 13 years old and I love playing table tennis, I am ranked 2nd in England in my age group and 9th in the U15 and 49th in the under 18. Last year i played for my school table tennis team with my sister Katie, we played in the schools national finals and won the under 16 girls title.Because we won that we were selected to play for England in the World schools championships held in France April 2014. We have just qualified for this years National schools final as well, which starts on March 22nd which i am proud of, hopefully we can win it again for the 2nd time. I have found out that i can’t play in the world championships because i am too young, the people who run the world championships say players must be born before 1999 to play i was born in 2001, I am upset because i helped my school team win the National school title and i think i deserve to play, i was very excited when we won because i was told i would be playing for England, and i wanted to go to France and play for England with my sister Katie, it would of been nice for my mam and dad to have both their daughters playing for England in the same team.I know this wont happen now but i still want to go to France, i would like to support my team and hopefully train with them over in France, i still want to feel part of the team even if i cant play and i think if i can go to France i will see good players and the experience will help me in the future, i want to feel the atmosphere and i will use it to make me determined to work hard and play for England in the future.If you would like to sponsor me, any money i get will go towards my share of the travel and accommodation cost and not paying for my parents.
