Hi, I’m Alex. I am 13 years old and my sport is table tennis. For the last 3 years I have been English National Champion in my age group (U11, U12 and U13). I have played for England twice, once in France and once in the Isle Of Man. I have represented my county and region lots of times and play in both Junior and Senior British League teams. I have been playing table tennis for 4 years and before playing table tennis I used to play tennis, I represented my county and region in the under 10 category. I train four nights per week and have to spend more than 6 hours travelling just to get to where I can play other good players. I am sponsored by Stiga in Sweden so do not have to pay for my own equipment. This summer I am going to training camps in Spain and France, I would like to raise some money for some of this as it is expensive for my parents. I would like to become a top senior player in the future, I love playing competitions and my dream would be to represent England in the Olympics one day. My picture shows me playing at the English Championships last month, table tennis is a difficult sport to watch, you need to be quick and to understand the spin that the other player has put onto the ball.
